(1) Visiting Fellow 
Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre (NSC)

The ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute’s (ISEAS) Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre (NSC) invites Archaeologists to apply for the post of: Visiting Fellow.

Primary Responsibilities
• Prepare and conduct the annual NSC Field School for undergraduate-level students in a Southeast Asian country.
• In-charge of editing and soliciting papers for the Archaeological Report Series.
• Conduct and publish original archaeological research on Southeast Asia while at NSC.
• Assist NSC in the organisation and management of conferences, workshops and seminars.
• Contribute to ISEAS collective research and public outreach efforts.

Requirements

• A PhD. in Archaeology
• Expertise in Southeast Asian archaeology and/or premodern history.
• Experience in conducting archaeological excavations or field work in Southeast Asia.
• Good organisational and student-management skills.
• High level of editorial and writing skills in English.
• Ability to speak a Southeast Asian language preferred.
• Positive work attitude, great communication skills, and ability to work under tight schedule.

A remuneration package commensurate with experience and ability will be provided. Contract for two years with option for renewal. (2) Research Officer

The ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute invites applications for the post of: RESEARCH OFFICER.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provide research and fieldwork support to the project entitled “Christianity in Southeast Asia: Comparative Growth, Politics and Networks in Urban Centres”. This project is funded by the Social Science Research Thematic Grant from the Ministry of Education.
• Liaise with relevant university departments, research institutes and churches in Southeast Asia for data collection and/or set up interviews.
• Independently conduct basic fieldwork in church-settings in different urban centres in Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore.
• Undertake analytical work and write literature reviews; assist in the organisation of workshops and seminars; and contribute to the writing of project reports.
• Contribute to research team’s collective research and public outreach efforts.
• Report to the PI and co-PI of the project.
• Other ISEAS-related duties.

Requirements

• University degree in Sociology and Anthropology (preferred), Geography or any relevant Social Science discipline.
• Must be comfortable travelling to and staying in urban centres in Southeast Asia.
• Good communication and writing skills in English. Ability to speak Indonesian or Vietnamese would be an advantage.
• Fieldwork experience and relevant working experience in research-oriented organisations would be an advantage
• Able to work independently, positive work attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines

(3) Research Officer 
ASEAN Studies Centre

The ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute invites applications for the post of: RESEARCH OFFICER.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provides research support to ASEAN Studies Centre researchers
• Assists in the editing and production of the Centre’s publications, including ASEANFocus
• Assists in the organization and management of conferences, workshops and seminars including emceeing and note-taking as and when required
• Maintains and expands the Centre’s mailing lists and facilitates the dissemination of its research outputs
• Anchors the Centre’s public outreach efforts and supports projects related to the understanding of ASEAN and the promotion of ASEAN Studies
• Maintains ASC website and social media accounts including editing and content management
• Undertakes individual research projects under the guidance of ASC Lead Researchers

Requirements

• University degree in social sciences or related fields, preferably in international relations, political science, Southeast Asian Studies or Asian Studies, advanced degree would be an advantage
• Good communication and writing skills in English
• Experience in copy-editing and other forms of editorial work would be highly desirable
• Experience in public communications and events management
• Proficiency in web and social media editing and content management would be an advantage
• Positive work attitude and ability to work under demanding circumstances
• Team spirit and a high sense of professionalism
