Seminar on Japan’s Soft Power and ASEAN-Japan Relations

 

Japan’s efforts at projecting its “soft power” in Southeast Asia has reaped rewards in economic terms as well as in sowing goodwill between Japan and ASEAN, but more can be done to ensure accessibility of Japanese content to Southeast Asian audiences. This was the overarching message from the seminar on “Japan’s Soft Power and ASEAN-Japan Relations”.

ISEAS’ Johor survey in the news

 

The study, a follow-up of a study in 2013, was commissioned by the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute and conducted by the Merdeka Center between May and June 2017. Respondents consisted of Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above who resided in Johor. They were selected through random stratified sampling across district of residence, controlled by quota for ethnicity, age and gender.  For more information on the survey, click here
