Regional Outlook Forum 2018

The Regional Outlook Forum (ROF) is the flagship event of ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute. First held in 1998. The forum takes place in January every year. 

The one-day event focus on macro trends, developments and challenges facing Southeast Asia in the immediate, short and medium-term, sharing insights from distinguished scholars and intellectuals with international and regional reputation. ROF 2018 is the 21st edition of the event. 

This year, there were six panels of discussions, consisting of 13 speakers and 6 moderators, who covered topics ranging from US-China relations, to economic trends and security issues affecting the region, as well as the general outlook for several key countries in the region. 

More than 700 attended the event at Shangri-La Hotel on 9 January 2018. Participants came from a diverse background, including the business and financial sectors, academic, government and diplomatic community, domestic and international media.
